Could not find any fault with this hotel. Yes the furniture was a bit dated but who cares when everything else was spot on!! Location is only about 10 to 15 mins walk to centre and all flat. Breakfast which was included was cooked to perfection, tasty and well presented. Will definitely go back.

A Walk Through History
Featuring half-timbered buildings, almost complete city walls and a wealth of Roman heritage, beautiful Chester sits by the border with Wales.
The southernmost gate of the walls overlooks the River Dee, and the road leading north is one of 4 in the city to follow the original Roman roads. To the east, the Roman Gardens include a reconstructed underfloor heating system.
Nearby Grosvenor Park has remains of a stone Roman amphitheatre, thought to have been built on the world’s largest wooden amphitheatre at the time. Over the river in the suburb of Handbridge is a 2nd-century shrine to Minerva, and an informative display in the Grosvenor Museum provides the background to all this heritage.
In the west is Chester Racecourse and nearby are the medieval castle remains. More medieval buildings line the cobbled city centre streets. Some of these are The Rows, black-and-white timbered buildings housing 2 levels of shops. Other shopping options are the indoor market by the cathedral, and the Cheshire Oaks Outlet Village in Ellesmere Port to the north. The road out there passes Chester Zoo, one of the UK’s best zoos.
Booking.com’s range of Chester accommodation includes hotels with swimming pools, guest houses by the train station and B&Bs with parking near Chester Airport.

I recommend going to the Orthodox church to celebrate the Greek Easter this year it was brilliant, each year it seems to get better and better. I also recommend staying at the MacDonalds New Blossom hotel which is centrally appointed and easy to get to the church via the No:16 bus the hotel has good facilities and does a variety of full English cooked breakfasts it also has good Wi-Fi in each room and good bathing facilities. At an reasonable price. If you still have time board the tour bus and also go for a river trip as well as an good place for shopping and restaurants.

I was here for a planned weekend singing the services in the Cathedral. I loved the atmosphere of the city, the rows had so much character. The Cathedral was amazing and walking the walls was great. We were lucky enough to go into the castle whish was interesting and really informative. I wanted to see more and I want to come back!

Beautiful Roman city.
Beautiful Roman city. People friendly and helpful, as well as caring. I found the people to be unusually warm and friendly for a UK city tbh. I would return to Chester for this reason! Also, a classy city. Lots of good shops, wine bars, etc.

We loved that you could walk the city wall. The historic row with shops on different levels is a must. Chester zoo is great. Military Musuem interesting and friendly staff. The riverside walk with plenty of places to eat.
Only downside is there in a lot to cram in if you only stay for a long weekend.

Highly recommend that the 'Roman Tour', starting outside the Information Centre in the main square, be experienced. Rob, alias 'Sixtus (D-something, The name of his favourite Roman general) Scipio' turns up in full Roman soldier gear with a magic bag containing all sorts of artefacts which illustrate Roman life in the city as he conducts a tour around the main Roman places of interest in the city. The Roman ruins in the basement of Pret a Manger on the high street are impossible to forget. The Cathedral is vast and impressive, with a quiet garden for rest and reflection and there are many timber framed buildings, both several centuries old and Victorian. Highly recommend Huxley's ice cream from next to the clock on Eastgate, (up the steps) especially eaten in the restful 2nd floor sitting room adjacent, with tea, Chester beer and scone/cake. Look out the porthole along Eastgate to the far church, where the River Dee used to come up to when Chester was an important sea port. Colourful, vibrant city, but not too sprawling to walk around in on foot. I will be back!
Comfortable & spacious rooms. Welcoming and friendly staff. Freshly cooked breakfasts and a good evening menu too.
Free car parking and a local bus stop outside the hotel to get into Chester City centre which is about 4 mins away, if you fancy walking it's roughly 10/12 minutes with Chester train station is about 6 mins walk away.
Hoole high street opposite the lodge has various independent shops and retailers with a friendly atmosphere.
It is a lovely historic hotel. Our room was beautifully presented with a lovely bathroom.
We requested two twin rooms for our three-night stay and they were side-by-side.
Obviously very close to the railway station and walkable into the city centre.
Delicious and plentiful breakfast which really set us up for our days out.
We were friends from Chester College (University) days enjoying a reunion and the hotel was a good place to stay.
We received an unexpected upgrade which was lovely the room much bigger than expected. Breakfast was good and served in a clean and relaxed environment and the staff were lovely. The location was just next to hoole railway station which was very convenient, there was no rail noise that we noticed and we were within walking distance of Chester centre and the river dee.
Excellent location for city centre attractions. Very well decorated and maintained hotel. Owner exceptionally helpful, he even carried my bike through the hotel and loaded it onto my bike rack in the rear car park for me. I will definitely stay again if visiting Chester.
This hotel is well-run and has excellent swimming fitness, and spa treatment facilities in its adjoining spa. The included breakfast is also very good. And it's location on a canal very very close to center of Chester and especially to the bus and rail stations.
Hotel very nice and in a great location (only 10 minutes or so into Chester City Centre by car/taxi) Room lovely and bathroom very spacious with great shower over bath. Spa lovely and Emma in particular (who did my two treatments) was excellent. Breakfast good
Excellent hotel and the food was great. Recommended and will be staying again when at Chester. Free car parking is great and lots of room. Internet was great. Bed was really comfortable. Staff really friendly and nothing to much of a problem.
The Hotel Indigo Chester was luxuriously appointed for the price point and the location is excellent.
The common areas and restaurant are bright and stylish and we loved the small snack left for us as well as the nice robes.
Location, wasn't too far from Chester (driving wise). Also the price was good as well compared the city centre hotels. I also liked that were still able to serve food with it being 11pm, even if it was just a mushroom pizza.
Hotel is modern, with a relaxing, chilled vibe. Lucky enough to have a canal side room. Access to Chester City centre is literally a 5 minute walk along the canal. Reception/bar staff were all very helpful and friendly.
Good location with a 5 minute walk into Chester city centre and free onsite car park. Hotel was very clean throughout, good breakfast with plenty of choice and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Staff were fab, friendly, courteous, nothing was too much trouble.
Evening meal and breakfast were very tasty.
All areas of interest were well within walking distance of the hotel as it is central Chester.
I have visited Mill Spa in Chester quite a few times now. The Hotel is 2 mins from city centre has a large bar area with food and the staff are very polite and helpful I would recommend Mill Spa 100%
The hotel was exceptionally clean and tidy, very good parking facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great location and Chester city centre was a ten minute walk.
Excellent location in the Chester Rows in the heart of the old town. Very well organised apartment, everything worked superbly. Two little glitches were put right straight away.
The hotel is easy to get to and is a 2 minute walk from Chester City centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was lovely to stay in
