Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

The amount of construction around the scenic areas is shocking. I never expected Monument Valley to be in the middle of housing. It was a very sad thing to see. I guess it's the smell of money that changed Monument Valley into a kind of Disneyland. Based on what I saw, I would not make a detour.

Monument Valley is to be experienced!
Monument Valley is to be experienced! We both drove it ourselves and took a tour. I would highly recommend MV Dineh Rebekah (SP?) Cultural Tour which took us behind public areas and we had the attention of a Dineh Guide. It was magical.

Even though I had booked the hotel, I asked if I could be moved to the new trailers below. The girl at the desk was able to do this for my two night stay. Not only did we not have to switch rooms on one of the nights, I love the new and spacious trailers! The trailers are laid out so well that you have plenty of privacy even when sitting outside. They are also huge with all the amenities of home. The views of Monument Valley in the morning are gorgeous. It's so peaceful!
Everything, location, view from the balcony, staff, breakfast-lunch-dinner at the restaurant. I usually pick my hotels very carefully, but at Monument Valley there are only two choices, so I was not expecting much from the Goulding’s other than a convenient location. I was impressed but everything, the room looked recently renovated, the view from the balcony is breathtaking, food at the restaurant was good and service was great. I loved everything about the place
The view was astonishing! We sat on our porch and watched the sunset on Monument Valley. The location was ideal if you are planning on visiting this park. The room was very well equipped, you could easily stay here comfortably for a few days. The convenience store was located close by so we were able to buy supplies and make a picnic for the following day exploring the park.
Fantastic location. View over monument valley from our balcony on 2nd floor. Comfortable beds with all necessary facilities. Good pod coffee machine. Ample parking near room.
Interesting museum on site with lots of history of the area.
Tour through valley with Navajo guide was very good, Bruce had lots of local knowledge and amusing commentary.
Stunning view on the Monument Valley, we were on the apartment lots where the view is less spectacular, for the best view choose the rooms in the main lot. There are all services in the lodge area, such restaurants, grocery store, gas station and an indoor pool. The apartment was very spacious and well equipped.
The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The Lodge is located right outside the entrance of Monument Valley, it has a beautiful view with a glimpse of the rock monuments. Good breakfast served at the restaurant, charming small museum and lots of souvenirs and native american artifacts at the gift shop
I will never forget the Sunrise I witnessed over the Monument valley from the balcony of this lodge. it was amazing. just 10 minutes drive from the Monument valley visitor center and the forest gump point if you are interested. it’s a Motel with a beautiful view in front of you and behind.
It was well located for a visit to Monument Valley. It was a spacious unit, with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom, a little away from the reception, swimming pool and dining room, but that worked ok. We also did a Gouldings tour with a local Navajo guide, which was excellent.
We stayed in the one bedroom suite, very clean stand alone standing cabin with a terrace and a nice view over the Monument Valley. Good place to stay when visiting the park. Kitchen was well equipped: fridge, microwave, coffee machine, dishes, cutlery, glasses and cups.
they have expanded to add a village of family homes next to the lodge. the view, the nice hiking path on the mountain behind, and comfort of the small houses is all perfect. restaurant is delicious. we always stay at Goulding!
the location of the hotel is awesome, you want Monument valley, well, this is monument valley... from the restaurant you have a great view, pool is nice and groceries and gas are close by. Great view from the rooms as well
Clean and comfortable, close to Monument Valley for tours. We enjoyed the museum and restaurant close by. The view from our room was beautiful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and affordable.
Location is the second best in the Monument Valley. If you didn't get a room in the Lodge that's inside the valley, this one is the next option to see the Valley from your hotel window.
