Bedroom was better than expected. Lots of double plug sockets, charger lead sockets and options for lights. Room was quiet, bed was extremely comfortable and bedding was spotless. Bathroom was stocked with lovely clean towels, hand soap and shampoo. Plenty of hot drink stock and a good size kettle and cups. Furnishings were very up to date and complimented the room well. All in all, the best chain hotel I've stayed in. Would definitely recommend

Breakfast was first class nothing was to much trouble for Denise who cooked and her daughter who served all to a high standard. The room was fresh and clean, bright and airy and with the most comfortable beds and pillows to die for.

The guest house is set back in a street away from the front but not far from the pier and promenade, lots to see and do on the pier and inside for families. there is a bit of site seeing in and around the town plus along the promenade, you can either get an open top bus tour (hop on hop off) or get the land train to travel along the promenade.
There are a variety of sunken gardens plus a war memorial along the promenade. Plenty of local fish n chip shops as well as pubs and restaurants.

although I was only there for a short time I enjoyed my stay. the town was close to my hotel and it was clean and tidy. there is plenty to do if you have children. I had a meal at the local chip shop which I believe was called geo on the main high ST. very good food and service. I visited some shops and the staff in the shops where in good spirits and helped the customers.

We just wanted a couple of quiet nights away,
For a family with young children who are on a budget it’s a good way to get away for a few days. Weather plays a big part but the beach isn’t bad, the pier and amusements can easily kill a rainy afternoon plenty of places to eat and drink Fairly cheap and basic seaside town but it’ll keep the kids happy

I think Clacton-on-Sea is a lovely town.
I think Clacton-on-Sea is a lovely town. The garden walk at the seafront is beautiful any time of the year; there are plenty of seats. There are loads of reasonable restaurants in Clacton and lots of activities for children. There is a very good Wetherspoon pub near the seafront. A good range of shops.

Vastly improved, very friendly, some excellent restaurants...
Vastly improved, very friendly, some excellent restaurants and food. Great beaches that are sandy ! I would not spend time on the pier, but its been restored very well, and huge gaming area and rides etc.
Charming little guest house, run by a lovely couple, who really look after their guests. Super clean and comfy room, with everything we needed including bottles of water, biscuits and even chocolate. The towels in the bathroom were possibly the most luxurious towels we have ever had in a hotel, and we travel a lot and have stayed in some great hotels. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious! Located within easy walking distance to the sea front and Clacton Pier. Perfect for a weekend get-away.
Carol and Peter who ran the hotel were warm welcoming and so friendly. The rooms were spotless, best towels ever. Beds comfy. Tea and coffee also treats in the room. The breakfast was amazing, plentiful, fresh and yummy.
The young lady serving us again warm friendly and welcoming. The hotel was in the centre of everything and in all honesty the staff couldn't do enough for you. Hence, a lovely place to stay, if you visit clacton. I seriously couldn't fault this place. Highly recommend.
The restaurant linked to the hotel is decorated beautifully!!!! Flowers everywhere and covering the whole ceiling. And the breakfast included in the stay was really lovely too. It was a nice view from the balcony and very close to the sea front. I enjoyed that there was a pub just downstairs which was cheap to drink in. Water and hot drinks available within the room which was nice. It’s nice and modern in the reception area and hall ways.
Everything! The hosts Sofia and Paul were lovely, very personable and accommodating. The guesthouse is the perfect location for the beach and city centre. The room was clean/tidy and had everything we needed for breakfast. The bed was very comfortable too. Shower was spacious with instant hot water, unlike bigger hotels we've stayed in previously. This is one accommodation we couldn't find fault with.
Lovely bright apartment right by the seaside. Location is perfect and a 5 mins walk to Clapton on sea main pier. The apartment is quiet so can't hear any neighbours. The apartment is cosy and has everything you need. The second double bedroom is quite small and cosy. It was clean and modern with a lot of light streaming through and a lovely big flat screen TV. We would definitely return.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Both rooms were excellent with the seaview. Unfortunately, we had to check out early and missed the breakfast. We were there to attend a funeral from Clacton on Sea to Colchester Cemetry and were not able to make it back to the hotel.
Overall rating: Excellent
Hope to visit again
Thank you for the hospitality
Very clean and comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast that caters also for vegans.
Karen and Kevin very very friendly and helpful hosts, we were able to check in early and left the luggage there after check out which was very helpful.
I would most definately recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Clacton-on-sea.
Once again thank you!
I like the location, the staff were very kind and helpful. The facilities were spotless. Felt more like a hotel than a guest house a lot of care and attention goes into the running of this establishment. Really first class experience.
Comfortable room with climate control and large bathroom, very easy parking and 5 minutes from clacton town centre. No noise from othe rooms which was great as in England you often get lots of noise in the nights in hotels
Location was just off the Clacton seafront, so walking out for dinner and to the beack, amusements etc was ideal. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very good. Room very clean and in excellent order.
We stayed in a suite with a sea view. The room was fabulous. The staff were absolutely fantastic. It was a special Birthday with my mum and my sister and we had a super time. Thank you all at Royal Hotel.
We had a lovely stay at the OYO Pier Head Hotel in Clacton-On-Sea. Becky the Manager made us very welcome, the hotel was clean had a lovely atmosphere and breakfast was good. We would stay there again.
Better contact the hotel directly. I paid 157 Pound for one night, the worker said the booking is inflating the prices, if you book directly with hotel it is much cheaper and you get breakfast.
Nothing to do with the rental accommodation
Liked being in Clacton on sea, as it’s a favourite of the whole family, as we visit several times a year as it has special memories for us
The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. There were plenty of tea/coffee sachets. It was convenient for where we wanted to be (near Holland on Sea). Breakfast was great too.
